Itinerary:
April 22: All participants must arrive in Chengdu, China by 5pm, April 22nd
April 23: Fly from Chengdu to Lhasa arriving in the early afternoon. Dinner with locals and quick cultural overview
April 24: Lhasa- Explore the Old Tibetan Quarter of Lhasa – Johkang Temple, Sangkhung Nunnery & Barkhor Square
April 25: Lhasa-Monk debate at Sera Monastery, pilgrim route around the Potala Palace and Ramoche Temple.
April 26: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake and Mt. Nojin Kangtsang Glacier. (4025m/13,205ft)
April 27: In the morning explore Gyantse Monastery. In the afternoon drive from Gyantse to Shigatse, Tibet’s second largest city. 3,840m/12,600 ft
April 28: Shigatse-Explore Tashi Lhunpho Monastery, one of the largest and most important in Tibet
April 29: Drive from Shigatse to Shegar through Tibetan farming communities. 4310m/14,130ft
April 30: Travel from Shegar to the Pang La Pass and to the farming village of Basum. First sweeping view of Himalaya. 4265m/13,991ft
May 1: Go from Basum to Everest Base Camp. Spend the morning @ Everest, then drive to Nepal border
May 2: Travel from the Tibet border to Bhaktapur, Kathmandu Valley. 1337m/4385 ft
May 3: Explore the ancient Nepali city of Bhaktapur
May 4: Continue photographing Bhaktapur area. Workshop concludes in the evening.
